The recent flooding in Louisiana had a huge effect on the local animal population. Many people had to give up their animals or put them into a temporary shelter. One of the local shelters was also flooded, so they moved to a large open-sided livestock barn.
We spent the morning unloading a truck of donated goods that came in from Maryland. I was surprised that people from so far away took the time to put together a truckload of goods and drive them down themselves.
It warms my heart to see a group of people from so far away lending a hand. Thank you, Maryland!
